A thermal protector is a component which opens an electrical circuit (i.e., interrupts the flow of currecnt) when it reaches a specified temperature. Resettable thermal protectors, such as these are used in RV power converters, re-connect the circuit when the unit cools down. Opens at 140degrees and resets when it cools down.
